Fred Jackson, from Tzeachten First Nation, was born in British Columbia, Canada. Influenced by his surroundings of nature, he began exploring his artistic abilities as a young child. The eyes of the wildlife have always inspired him to move forward in his artwork and to bring illustration to life. Contemporary art and custom designs are among his specialties. Jackson has explored a variety of mediums and methods for native design, portrait, carving, graphic design, mural, and landscape painting.

Fred was recently selected as one of the Indigenous artists to work with Telus.

From a young age, Fred Jackson’s artistic pursuits were influenced by his upbringing within the Tzeachten First Nation. Influenced by elder artists and inspired by his natural surroundings, his work is born out of nature and wildlife, reflections of the past, and of learning and relearning traditions.

In his artwork today, Fred specializes in the mediums of graphic arts, wall murals, and paintings. He recently completed his first buddy bench project for an elementary school in support of an anti-bullying initiative. Committed to passing on his passion for his craft, Fred also teaches art to students in grade school to college.
