Fred Jackson, from Tzeachten First Nation, is a First Nations artist who was born in British Columbia, Canada. Influenced by his surroundings of nature, he began exploring his artistic abilities as a young child. He often explains his ideas come from his own reflection of himself and his surroundings.
Fred has taught native and contemporary art throughout school districts, conferences, family camps and through private consultations.
The eyes of the wildlife have always inspired him to move forward in his artwork and to bring illustration to life. Contemporary art and custom designs are among his specialties.
Jackson explored a variety of mediums and methods for native design, portrait, carving, graphic design, mural and landscape painting. The artistry Fred creates is to capture the viewers’ horizons; showing meaning behind the work of art.
