Every Child Matters Fergus 11" Bear with Eagle Mother Design

Partial proceeds from the sale of this bear will be donated to help support the Sto:lo Shxweli Halq'emeylem Language Program. The design is by Artist Jared Deck in support of the program.
These bears are soft and quality made.

About the design;

The mother eagle design shows the Mother holding on to her babies close to her heart. The Salmon in her wings are to provide the necessities (language/culture/spirit/family/home) for a healthy life. The inverted maple leaf represents Canada’s role in taking the children away from their families and forcing them into residential schools. In the design you see the maple leaf attached to the eaglets wings leading them away from the grasp of their mother.
